Student Ambassadors

Rate: £8.03 per hour (Grade 2)

3 hours per week

Fixed term for academic year (term time only)

sigma – Centre for Excellence in Mathematics & Statistics Support (CETL) seeks six Student Ambassadors to promote the activities of sigma and the Mathematics Learning Support Centre to fellow students from their Department and beyond.  These posts represent an exciting opportunity for students to assist in raising awareness of mathematics and statistics support services provided by Loughborough University. 

You will be expected to publicise sigma activities within your department; assist staff in recruiting students to sigma events; liaise with appropriate personnel within your departments, the Student Union and beyond; participate in regular update meetings; and contribute to national CETL events.

You will be proactive, capable of working independently and have good communication skills.  You should have successfully completed at least one year of undergraduate study and, where relevant, have passed the mathematical and/or statistical components of your course. 

The Student Ambassador Scheme is very flexible and working hours will be allocated to fit around students’ academic commitments.

Undergraduates from the Faculty of Social Science and the Department of Mathematical Sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.  However, all applicants will be considered.

Student Ambassadors required...

The Mathematics Education Centre seeks six Student Ambassadors to promote the activities of the Mathematics Learning Support Centre to fellow students from their Department and beyond. Ambassadors will be paid £7.78 an hour, 3 hours per week, during term-time. Further details are available here.
