Statstutor is now live. ..
We are pleased to announce that statstutor is now live and can be found at:
This is a new online resource aimed at providing statistics support free of charge to students, lecturers and everyone looking for post-16 Statistics help.
This has been developed as pilot project by staff from Loughborough and Coventry Universities with support from the sigma network, along with contributions from the Royal Statistical Society's Centre for Statistical Education and a number of other colleagues from other HE institutions in the UK. The aim of the project was to develop an on-line statistics resource to complement the very popular mathcentre site (www.mathcentre.ac.uk) which provides a wide range of support materials in mathematics.
There are a variety of different resources available on the site, including case study videos, video tutorials, teach yourself materials, tests and quizzes and electronic versions of the very popular Facts and Formula leaflets distributed by the HEA MSOR Subject Centre. The resources can be viewed on-line, but many may also be printed or downloaded. The number of resources available at the moment is limited, but the statstutor team hope this will grow in time and welcome further contributions from colleagues in the post-16 statistics teaching and learning community.
The statstutor site also contains links to other useful online resources in statistics and the team hope that in time the site will become as popular worldwide as mathcentre has, and so will serve as a first port of call whenever a student or lecturer or indeed anyone is looking for online post-16 statistics support materials.
